"Measurement of Oxygen Transfer to a Subsurface Horizontal Flow Constructed Wetland - Comparing Different Retention Times" by Lina Tyroller from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is announced best full paper at the first Spain National Young Water Professionals Conference. Lina Tyroller will therefore present her work at the International Young Water Professionals Conference in Sydney, Australia on the 5-7 July this year.

Dr. José Eduardo González Pastor from the Astrobiology Centre in Madrid (INTA-CSIC) writes in his article "The unseen diversity of microbes. The protection of aquatic environments due to their microbiological interest." about the importance of the microorganisms in the environment and in particular in various aquatic ecosystems. Further he points out their usefulness in biotechnological applications and medicine.

With an aim to encourage and support professionals and postgraduate researchers within the Spanish water and wastewater industry, the International Water Association (IWA), Fundació Agbar and CETaqua organize the first Spanish National Young Water Professionals (YWP) Conference.
The objective of this national forum is to provide a platform for professionals and postgraduate researchers to present their research related to all aspects of water, as well as create professional development opportunities for these Young Water Professionals.

Historian José Manuel Martín Pascual's book Barcelona. Aigua i ciutat: l'abastament d'aigua entre les dues exposicions (1888-1929) [Barcelona: Water and City; Water Supply Between the Two International Exhibitions (1888-1929)] is the first title in the Biblioteca Fundació Agbar collection. The book is published by Marcial Pons on the initiative of the Studies and Publications Division in the Agbar company's foundation, Fundació Agbar. It is based on the author's PhD thesis Aigua i societat a Barcelona entre les dues exposicions (1888-1929), which received the greatest academic distinctions of its time.

With the aim to conserve the biodiversity, the water and the Mediterranean landscape of this treasure as delicate as a dewdrop, UNESCO CAT now publishes "L'aigua i el canvi climatic a la Mediterrània", a book that brings together latest facts and scientific forecasts on global warming with regard to these water resources.
Agbar Foundation collaborates with the Regional Energy Agency, Castilla la Mancha in the organisation of the 2nd Convention on Climate Change and Sustainability in Spain, celebrated in Albacete on the 10th -12th of February 2010.
